Lindelof walks out on Sweden squad due to ‘personal reasons’

The Red Devils defender will not play for Sweden in their upcoming match against Estonia.

Victor Lindelof

featured in Sweden’s World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo over the past week and helped his team secure two clean sheets in those games. However, the experienced centre-back will not be available for his country’s friendly match against Estonia on Wednesday. The team’s assistant manager

Peter Wettergren

confirmed the news in a pre-match press conference.

"[Lindelof] will leave us tonight for private, personal reasons,"

Wettergren told reporters.

Manchester United have not yet confirmed Lindelof’s return to the club. However, if the 26-year-old’s problem is fitness-related, he might miss their next Premier League clash against Brighton on Sunday.
