Although he was a great player for Juve before Calciopoli, the solidarity that he showed the club by staying with them even in Serie B is one of the reasons Juve fans love him so much and why he is one of the best Juventus players of all time. Nedved who at the time was considered to be one of the best players in the world and had won the Ballon d’Or in 2003, could’ve gone to any top club in the world but he stayed with Juve and helped them back to Serie A one year later.

Although Rossi was originally a Juventus youth player, he made a name for himself after moving to Vicenza. He won back to back Serie B and Serie A Golden Boots in 1977 and 1978, but later in 1980 his career was stalled as he was involved in a betting scandal, which he still thinks he was framed for, and as a result was banned from football for 2 years.

5. Dino Zoff

Zoff is considered by many to be one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history. He is truly one of Juventus best footballers of all time but interestingly enough there is one other goalkeeper above him in this list!

By the time Zoff moved to Juventus he was already 31 and a veteran of the game, but as most players’ gifts deteriorate with age Zoff only got better to the point that he won the World Cup and Serie A in 1982, when he was 40. In total he won 6 Serie A titles with Juventus and 2 Coppa Italia, he also did reach two Champions League finals with the club but lost on both occasions. Although he did win the European Cup (now known as Europa League) with Juventus.

Best Juventus Players of All Time

Zoff was never a flashy goalkeeper, as he always favored caution and consistency over a standout save or performance. He was really good at reading the opposition’s attack patterns and he used this to organize his back-line. Perhaps he did this best in the 1982 World Cup where Italy won the World Cup with great defensive performances, led by Zoff. His style of goalkeeping has influenced many modern goalkeepers, including Juventus’ own Gigi Buffon, and it has made him one of the legends of the game as well as one of the greatest players in the history of Juventus.

4. Gaetano Scirea

Gaetano Scirea has won everything a footballer can and that’s isn’t hyperbole. After 2 seasons at Atalanta, Scirea signed for Juventus aged only 19 and would go on to play for them until he retired from football 15 years later. Scirea formed a strong partnership at the back with Claudio Gentile and Antonio Cabrini, they, alongside Dino Zoff as the goalkeeper, made Juventus’ defense impregnable and were one of the pillars of Juve’s success in that era, especially on the European stage.

Best Juventus Players of All Time

Scirea won 7 Serie A titles, 2 Italian Cups, 1 UEFA Cup, 1 Cup Winners' Cup, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup, and 1 Intercontinental Cup with Juventus, being one of only 9 players to have won everything at the club level that a European player can, in addition to that he won the 1982 World Cup with Italy.

He was not only a part of the Juventus that won all those trophies, but rather he was the pillar and a general of that team and that’s why he is a legend among Bianconeri fans. he has even stands named after him, both in Juve’s current stadium and the former delle Alpi stadium. He sadly passed away at the age of 36, a year after he retired from football, but he will forever be one of the best Juventus players of all time.

3. Gianluigi Buffon

Considered by many to be the greatest goalkeeper of all time, Gigi Buffon is the pinnacle of career longevity in the very top of footballing pyramid. He seems to have found the fountain of youth because he is still playing today and is as good as any goalkeeper half his age. This career longevity has allowed him to break many records, including the most appearances by a player in Serie A with 649 appearances and the most amount of clean sheets by a goalkeeper with a staggering 296 number of clean sheets and a 45.6% clean sheet ratio.

It would take an entire article to recite all of Buffon’s individual achievements, suffice it to say that he has surpassed what was thought possible for a player to do. But before he became a legend he is today, he started his career at youth levels of Parma, which was then followed by his first professional appearance just before he turned 18. He won the Coppa Italia and UEFA Cup with Parma, before joining Juventus in 2001 for €52 million, which was a then record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

Best Juventus Players of All Time

Buffon played for Juve for 17 consecutive seasons before joining PSG in 2018-19 season for a single year after which he rejoined Juventus. He has won 12 Serie A titles in 18 seasons at Juventus, 2 of which were revoked because of Calciopoli but even with 10 Serie A titles, there are no players who have won as many scudetto as him. He has also won 4 Coppa Italia titles with the Bianconeri and appeared in 3 Champions League finals, all of which he has lost.

Nicknamed Superman, Buffon was extremely agile and good in the air in his prime. He is extremely good in organizing the back-line and like another one of best Juventus players of all time, Dino Zoff, he is reliable in goal. And just like Zoff, he was also a pillar in Italy’s national team, helping them in the 2006 World Cup win, where he recorded 5 clean sheets in the tournament. Buffon will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best players of all time, as well as one of legendary Juventus players ever and with 42 years of age, he still has some gas left in the tank and could very well improve on all his records!

Platini scored the only goal of the match from a penalty-kick, which was given suspiciously. Although his later career after retirement may have tarnished his name, there is no denying that he will forever be one of the greatest French players as well as one of the best Juventus players of all time.

The number 1 spot on our list of best Juventus players of all time goes out to Alessandro Del Piero. But his time at Juventus couldn’t be expressed by numbers only, because he meant so much more than that for Juventus fans, and even football fans in general.

He started playing for Padova when he was a teenager, and after a couple of seasons Juventus took a risk and brought him to Turin. He hit the ground running and soon became a regular player.
