The Injury of Ali Maâloul Ends His Season with Al Ahly Egypt

Doctors’ confirmation, X-rays, and preparation for surgery: Ali Maâloul faces the challenge of returning after an unexpected injury at Rades Stadium in Al Ahly’s last match

The injury of Tunisian player Ali Maâloul, the prominent left-back in the ranks of Al Ahly Egyptian Club, has been confirmed. He suffered a partial tear in the Achilles tendon during his match with the Tunisian team Esperance in the first leg of the African Champions League final. The match took place at Rades Stadium and ended in a goalless draw last Saturday.

Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team doctor, confirmed in official statements that the X-rays performed for player Maâloul that evening showed a partial tear in the Achilles tendon, which requires surgery the next day under the supervision of one of the senior specialist doctors.

In another context, a source in the club exclusively explained that there is a state of shock among Maâloul and the technical staff due to the confirmation of the end of his season with the red team due to the injury.

Maâloul left the match early due to the injury, which occurred without any intervention from a player from the opposing team.

The absence of the prominent Tunisian player will cause a major crisis for Al Ahly Club, as Maâloul is considered one of the basic elements in the team’s lineup over the past years, especially since he occupies the position of the left-back primarily and is considered one of the spiritual leaders of the team.
