Calabria aims to break into Mancini’s squad for Euro 2020

Milan defender Davide Calabria is eager to maintain his good start to the season to find his place in Roberto Mancini’s team for Euro 2020.

The 23-year-old right-back has played in all Serie A matches for

the Rossoneri

this season and made his debut for the national team in November.

“I went through a bad period, I had to get out of it by myself rolling up my sleeves and working hard,” Calabria told Sky Sport.

“I think this other positive period is a reward for the sacrifices I have made, I hope to continue as I’m doing with Milan and I hope to arrive at the European Championship.”

Calabria

said that the Milan squad are happy to have

Stefano Pioli

back on the bench as he recovered from COVID-19.

“I talked to the coach a lot to establish a human relationship between us, it’s essential for a team to create a positive relationship, because it is then reflected on the pitch.

“Now, everyone gives everything for each other. In the period in which we unfortunately were without the coach, we gave everything to make him happy and we succeeded.

“And we are even more please that he’s back now.”

Calabria sees his future with Milan and he shows his dedication to the club.

“It’s certainly an objective to continue with this shirt,” he added. “I have always said that it’s an honor to be here.

“I grew up here. What I have done so far, is just a starting point.”
