Inter Milan January Transfer Window of 2022: Live Updates

The Scudetto winner, Inter is ready to defend the Serie A title. Nerazzurri has responded to the departure of its valuable players and of course

, in the best possible way. Conte’s replacement, Simone Inzaghi is steering the team with minor changes compared to Conte’s team.

Unlike,

Romelu Lukaku

At Chelsea,

Edin Dzeko

’s transfer to Inter has been very successful. The former Roma captain wiped all the worries about Lukaku’s successor. The free signing of Hakan Calhanoglu by Inter was an absolute masterpiece. Nerazzurri signed the Turkish player from the arch-rival Milan. Nerazzurri still needs a reliable left-back as an alternative for Ivan Perisic. Joaquin Correa’s injury may be enough reason to sign a forward during the

Inter Milan January transfer window of 2022

In the first one of the

Inter Milan winter 2022 transfers & news

, Ajax goalkeeper,

Andre Onana

has been spotted in Milan and will undergo his medical for Inter Milan today. He is one of the best keepers in Europe and has been in Ajax's first team since 2016. He is expected to sign a five year contract with Inter Milan for €3m net per season in July for the 2022-23 season.

Onana had offers from Arsenal and Barcelona. Especially, in the summer transfer window of 2021, he was considering a move to Arsenal before they got Aaron Ramsdale, which was a success for the Gunners. But according to Romano, Onana had a personal agreement with Inter to join the club as a free agent since December.

Samir Handanovic

’s contract will expire in June 2022. The 37 year old keeper joined Inter from Udinese in 2012 and in 10 seasons has had 417 appearances. He equaled

Gianluca Pagliuca

’s record for most penalty saves in Serie A in the 2019-20 season with 24, and in the following season, he broke the record.

Stefano Sensi

Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has officially joined Sampdoria, on a dry loan for the rest of the season. The 26 years old player, didn’t want to miss the upcoming World Cup in case Italy qualifies for the tournament. Sensi joined Inter on 2 July 2019 from Sassuolo on a loan deal with an option to buy. He had a great start at Inter and immediately became a key player for Antonio Conte.

His good run with Nerazzurri ended due to a series of injuries. Despite Sensi’s occasional injuries, in August 2020, Inter exercised the buyout clause in his contract and Sensi signed a four-year deal with the club. Following

Christian Eriksen

’s cardiac arrest during Euro 2020, the Danish midfielder became disqualified to play in Serie A.

Stefano Sensi could become a crucial player for Inter once again in 2021-22 but his recurring injuries and stunning performances by

Hakan Calhanoglu

effectively ruled him out of the favor. Italy national team manager, Roberto Mancini suggested Sensi leave Inter to gain more play time. Sampdoria signed him for the recently appointed manager

Robin Gosens

Atalanta player,

Robin Gosens

is the first official signing on the list of Inter Milan January 2022 transfers who joined on loan. Inter has the obligation to buy for  €25m with add ons included. The German wing-back came to Serie A in 2017 from the Dutch team Heracles Almelo on a €1 million deal with Atalanta.

The 27 years old became a crucial player for the Bergamo side since his second season in Italy. Gosens made 157 caps for Atalanta, scoring 29 goals and delivering 21 assists. His excellent work both at defense and offense has made him one of the top wing-backs in Serie A. The German international received a notable offer from wealthy English team Newcastle, which he rejected to join Inter instead.

The last time Gosens played in Serie A for Atalanta was against Inter in September. Since then he has been unavailable due to a hamstring injury. The loan deal is valid until June 2023, but certain conditions can make his deal permanent. Gosens has appeared in 13 games for Germany's national team and has scored two goals.

Felipe Caicedo

Iner Milan has made their second signing in the January transfer window of 2022.

Felipe Caicedo

makes a loan move from Genoa until June 30, 2022. With

Joaquin Correa

’s unfortunate injuries in the first half of the season, the club couldn’t risk it.

The 33 year old Ecuadorian forward, had played 139 games in all the competitions under Inzaghi in Lazio, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists. Simone Inzaghi knows him too well and it's most likely that he will be used as a rotation option.

In 2017, Caicedo joined Lazio in a €2.5 million transfer from Espanyol. He made a record of last minute goals for Lazio for himself. At Lazio, he won two Italian Supercup titles in 2017 and 2019, and one Coppa Italia in the 2018-19 season. In summer 2021, Caicedo left Lazio after four seasons and joined Genoa. In the current season, he has appeared in nine Serie A matches and scored a goal against Torino. He has lost several matches due to muscle injuries in Genoa.
