Italy Women’s legend Morace defends Gattuso against sexism accusations

Being linked to Tottenham’s dugout, the Spurs’ fans led a campaign against hiring Gennaro Gattuso while women’s football legend Carolina Morace assures the Italian coach is ‘against any form of discrimination.’

On his sexism accusations, Carolina Morace wrote on

Twitter

: “Rino Gattuso and I have been working together at Milan, and, since then, we have never stopped to discuss and share professional ideas and viewsm.

“Gattuso is against any form of discrimination, and is a person with rare gifts. Those who say the contrary do not know him at all.”

With 105 goals in 153 caps for Italy before her retirement in 1998, Morace is a legend of women’s football as he walked into coaching career after her retirement from playing.

In 1999, She became the first woman to coach a men’s professional football team with Viterbese and has been married to former Australian women’s football player, Nicola Jane Williams, since 2012.
