Nahda Berkane’s victory surprises in the face of Zamalek

A journey from early goals to arming with will and challenge

On Sunday evening, the Moroccan team Nahda Berkane won against the Egyptian team Zamalek with a score of (2-1), in the first leg match that was held on the municipal stadium in Berkane, as part of the African Confederation Cup final events.

Youssef Dayo scored two goals for Nahda Berkane team, the first from a penalty kick in the 13th minute, and the second from a header after a corner kick executed by Mohamed Mourabit in the 32nd minute. While Saif El Din Jaziri succeeded in scoring a goal for Zamalek in the 46th minute, but it was not enough to adjust the result.

The decision of the title has been postponed to the second leg match that will be held at Cairo Stadium next Sunday.

The beginning of the match witnessed strong pressure from Nahda Berkane, where the Moroccan team tried to score early, and succeeded in doing so through the penalty kick that Youssef Al Fahli got in the 7th minute. After long consultations, the referee announced the penalty kick, and Dayo succeeded in scoring it in the 13th minute.

Zamalek managed to reduce the difference in the 46th minute through a header from Jaziri, but their efforts were not enough to realize a draw in this match.

Nahda Berkane team’s control of the course of the game continued in the second half, and they were closer to adding more goals, especially through the attempts of Youssef Mahri and Hamza Moussaoui, but they did not succeed in doing so.

With this victory, Nahda Berkane team retains a slight advantage before the second match, and they look forward to taking advantage of this opportunity to win the continental title.
