Edin Dzeko was born on 17 March 1986 and just like his wife, Edin is also from Sarajevo, SFR Yugoslavia. His parents are Belma Dzeko (mother) and Midhat Dzeko (father). Edin grew up with a sister, Merima Dzeko, who’s been also his best friend ever since childhood.

As a child, Edin Dzeko as well as his family, survived the Bosnian War of Independence. It was one of the most unfortunate and tragic periods of time in the entire history of this country.
