Diaz ended up as the joint top goalscorer of the tournament alongside Lionel Messi. In 2019, he joined Porto for a reported fee of €7 million. Diaz won the domestic treble at Porto including Primeira League, Taça de Portugal, and Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.

In his total of 125 appearances, Diaz scored 41 goals for the Portuguese side. Liverpool signed the 25 years old for a €45 million initial fee making him the 5th most expensive arrival for the Reds. There’s also a potential of €15 million add-ons in the deal.
