Liverpool chasing out-of-favor Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount

Despite being one of the Blues' most influential players with three goals and three assists this term, the 24-year-old midfielder has fallen out of the pecking order since the appointment of Graham Potter.

With his contract due to expire in less than 18 months, the Reds are reportedly eager to bring him to Anfield. According to Daily Mail, Liverpool is eying a summer switch for Mason Mount as Chelsea is unwilling to meet his contract demands.

The 36-times England capped wants his current £80,000-per-week wages tripled, which brings him in line with their recent transfer acquisitions. Coming up through Chelsea's academy, Mount has scored 33 goals in 190 matches for the Blues.

Graham Potter earlier demanded a quick resolution in Mason Mount's contract situation at Chelsea:

"It is always complicated. There's always negotiations.

"It is best to leave it between Mason and the club. It is the best way for that to be dealt with.

"He has been fantastic to work with, an important player. Of course, I hope it gets resolved quickly."

Moreover, it has to be mentioned that Manchester City and Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing the midfielder.
