Fulham Fine and Premier League Registration Ban

Details of the financial penalty and ban imposed on Fulham due to Fabio Carvalho’s transfer to Liverpool and its legal implications

Fulham Football Club has been fined £75,000 as a result of violating the regulations and laws governing transfer operations, specifically regarding the transfer of promising Portuguese player Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool Football Club in 2022.

Carvalho’s departure from Fulham and his joining Liverpool resulted in Fulham paying sums of money to Balham Blazers, which was the previous station for the Portuguese star.

According to the statement issued by the Premier League on Tuesday, investigations have shown that these financial transfers contradicted the rules and regulations stipulated for registration operations in the Premier League, and Fulham admitted its mistake in this context.

In its statement, the Premier League confirmed that “the agreement reached between the League and Fulham Football Club includes punitive measures, against the backdrop of acknowledging the violations committed by the club in the context of player registration operations.”

In addition to the imposed financial penalty, a ban has been imposed on Fulham Football Club prohibiting it from contracting with any player belonging to its academy and wishing to move to other clubs, as part of the imposed penalties.
