Gattuso unaware of Nico Gonzalez attempt to return to Barcelona
The Spanish star is having a difficult time in Mestalla and it is not clear what his future will be in this team.
Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso has dismissed rumors that Nico Gonzalez wants to leave Los Che.
Valencia have won all but one of their home matches this season and will face Elche this weekend. During this time, Nico Gonzalez has not had much opportunity to play and has been sitting on the bench. He had the least playing time among the Valencia midfielders and was left out of the team list for the recent match. He joined Valencia on loan from Barcelona and plans to return to Camp Nou in the middle of the season. However, Gattuso claimed to be unaware of this.
He said:
“Nico has never come to me to speak about his situation.”
“It is the first time I am hearing something about him, he has a contract to play for a year with us. The boy is training very well and he is a good professional.”
Now it remains to be seen what decision the club will make about the future of the Spanish star and how his conditions will be in Mestalla. It is also possible that he will continue to fight to find his place in Gattuso's team in order to have a better place at Barcelona.
