Al-Ittihad Jeddah Club issued an official statement on Monday, announcing the departure of two of its stars from the team ranks at the end of the current season, namely the Brazilian player Romarinho and goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe.
The statement was published through the club’s official account on the social networking site “X”, and a picture of the duo was attached with the title “Farewell Night”.
It is scheduled that the match of Al-Ittihad team against Damak team next Thursday will be the last chance for the club fans to bid farewell to the Brazilian duo and watch them wearing the club shirts.
During the current season 2023-2024, Romarinho participated in 42 matches with Al-Ittihad Club in all tournaments, where he scored 8 goals and made 5 others. As for goalkeeper Grohe, he participated in 19 matches with the club, during which he received 18 goals, and kept his net clean in 9 matches.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Ittihad Jeddah Club occupies the fifth place in the Saudi Roshan League table with 51 points. The team exited the season without titles, after failing to succeed in the Saudi League, the local Super Cup, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Asian Champions League, which resulted in a major change in the club ranks recently.
