Coutinho set for Premier League comeback with clubs eyeing him

Philippe Coutinho is expected to finalize a transfer to a Premier League team this weekend, with five English teams vying for the Barcelona playmaker.

The former Liverpool star wishes to return to England and join a competitive team where he would be able to play on a regular basis.

The 29-year-old, who is also being courted by clubs from other countries, will decide on his future club before the weekend.

Coutinho has played 16 matches for Barcelona this season in all competitions, and his contract at the Nou Camp runs until June 2023.

The Brazilian is the club's record transfer, having moved from Liverpool for £146 million in January 2018.

Coutinho, who has netted 28 goals in 105 appearances for Blaugrana, has failed to impress the

LaLiga

club, where he has claimed four major championships.

He spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Bayern Munich, winning the

Champions League

,

Bundesliga

, and German Cup under Hansi Flick.
