Messi is happy with his first Ligue 1 goal

Messi’s first goal in the domestic competition has been his fourth for the club.

Lionel Messi

, who scored his first Ligue 1 goal for

Paris Saint-Germain

in their 3-1 victory over

Nantes

on Saturday, has talked about his goal, insisting that he is happy with the goal especially because it was scored at Parc des Princes.

The goal, however, was not the Argentinian’s first goal for the club in all competitions as he already had three goals registered to his name in the Champions League.

“I'm happy. We had a lot of chances, but their goalkeeper made some good saves. But we weren't afraid and we ended up winning,"

Messi said to Amazon Prime.

"I am happy to score this first goal, at the Parc des Princes, in front of the fans.

"Even though I had already scored in the Champions League, I expected to score in the league."

The Parisians’ boss has also talked about the game, insisting that his side should have scored more goals; however, he was happy with Messi’s goal.

"Yes, it was very important. We should have scored a lot more goals. But these kinds of matches are always open and when it is like that everything can happen,"

the coach said.

"The team showed their character once again [after Navas was sent off] and that was great. Time is important to bond between players and start to feel comfortable on the pitch."

And about

Sergio Ramos’

situation, he added that it is too soon to decide about the matter and that although Ramos has returned to the training he is not ready for competitive games.

"I don't know. His evolution is very important. One thing to be at the training, and quite another to be competitive,"

he said

.

"He's in a good mood. But, please, don't over interpret too much. We must not push too hard with him. It has to be done little by little."
