Barcelona try to extend Fati’s contract before El Clasico

, although it seems that Barca have the unilateral option to extend his contract for two more years.

Barca and Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes recently had talks over the player’s contract extension in Lisbon, which did not yield any results.

Mendes arrived in Barcelona five days ago and there were rumors that he intended to talk to Barcelona over a new contract, however, it was later revealed that he was in town to talk to the 18 year-old player and did not have any sit-down with the club officials.

, however, claimed today that the Blaugrana are in serious talks with the Spaniard’s agent to reach an agreement for a contract extension before Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid.

Barcelona representative, Mateu Alemany has already sent Jorge Mendes the club’s proposal and the Spain international and his agent are now weighing their options.
