Match Report: United States celebrates a 4-1 comeback over Honduras

USA completed a second-half comeback against Honduras in style as they scored four unanswered goals in the second half to celebrate their first victory in 2022 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.

Robinson, Pepi, Aaronson,

and

Lletget

all scored in the second half of the game to conclude

a 4-1 victory over Honduras

.

Behind Mexico and Canada, the USA are now third in the Octagonal standings, level on five points with Canada and Panama, and two points behind Mexico.

Honduras took the lead approaching the half-hour mark thanks to a goal by Moya, who glanced a diving header beyond USA goalkeeper Matthew Turner on Wednesday.

Despite being in lack of any purpose in the first half, USMNT emerged with renewed vigor in the second half. Robinson's 48th-minute volley leveled the score-line before Pepi's header gave the visitors a 2-1 lead with 15 minutes remaining.

Aaronson doubled the lead for the USMNT in the 86th minute before Lletget's goal in the third minute of stoppage time sealed a 12th successive game without defeat under Gregg Berhalter.
