Man Utd’s Greenwood furious by Saints’ goal

The Red Devils believe they should have been gifted a foul when a challenge was done on Bruno Fernandes before Fred’s own goal against Southampton.

Mason Greenwood

thinks

Southampton

’s goal should have been ruled out as

Manchester United

were held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

When Che Adam’s shot deflected off United’s

Fred

and went into the net, considered as an own goal, Saints took the lead in the 30th minute.

Greenwood pulled United level with his second goal in the Premier League, but the Red Devils could not grab all three points at the end.

Bruno Fernandes

was not pleased with the fact that he was not awarded free-kick for Jack Stephens’ challenge before Saints took the lead, but the VAR and referee Craig Pawson did not think it was needed.

The forward told BBC's Match of the Day:

"I think it's come through the back of him. I thought it was a foul but it's the referee's decision at the end of the day and we can't dwell on it.

"I understand they're going to let more challenges go so the game keeps flowing which is a good idea, but if there's a foul there's a foul."
