Pedro will join Roma’s arch-rivals Lazio on a free transfer today

Pedro found himself out of Jose Mourinho’s favor as it appears that there is no place for the 34-year-old in the newly appointed Roma boss’ plans. In his lone Roma season, Pedro scored six times and provided seven assists in 40 competitive matches.

Long for offloading their outcast

, the Spanish winger will reportedly join Roma’s arch-rivals, Lazio despite interests from Sampdoria, Torino, Genoa, Real Sociedad, Valencia, Zenit, Milan, and Al-Rayyan.

According to multiple sources, including

Gazzetta’s journalist, Alfredo Pedullà

, the transfer will be done within the next 24-hours. Pedro will terminate his contract with Roma by mutual consent first and then sign a two-year contract with Lazio. However, although the Spaniard will join Lazio on a free transfer, the Giallorossi will get some payment in the form of performance-related bonuses.

Pedro experienced a good spell under Sarri

while they both were at Chelsea, where played 52 games under him with 13 goals and five assists.

Maurizio Sarri, who came to Lazio to replace their former head coach Simone Inzaghi, has decided to change the team’s 3-5-2 formation to his favorite formation, which is 4-3-3, and to be able to lineup his players in this formation, he needs a new wide man and SportItalia’s transfer pundit Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that the 34-year-old Spaniard may be on his way to reunite with his former manager at Lazio.

Mauricio Sarri’s men will travel to Empoli

to kickstart their Serie A season on Saturday.
