The second half of Barcelona’s clash against Levante raised questions

The Blaugrana failed to secure the three points in the La Liga 3-3 draw with Levante, despite having the lead.

Barcelona

’s title ambitions were damaged by their draw with

Levante

on Tuesday. They are sitting only one point above

Real Madrid

and one point adrift of

Atletico Madrid

on the

La Liga

table, with two games remained. Both rivals have one game in hand.

Ronald Koeman

is not pleased with the way his team managed the clash.

Lionel Messi scored the opener in the 25th minute and helped Barcelona take the lead. Their lead was doubled when Pedri found the back of the net minutes later. However, Levante pushed hard to level the game and did so in the 57th and 59th minute courtesy of Gonzalo Melero and Jose Luis Morales’ strikes.

Barcelona responded with a third goal scored by Dembele only for Sergio Leon to equalize the game, earning the hosts one point.

We were good in the first half, with good rhythm and intensity, and led on the scoreboard,”

Koeman said after the match in comments carried by

Marca

.

“But in the second half we lost a lot of dangerous balls, we lowered our intensity. We made a lot of mistakes in defence and we weren’t attentive. At 2-2, we reacted and scored, but then it was easy for them to score again. [Conceding] three goals in 45 minutes is not Barcelona’s level.”

The Dutch tactician’s future is also raising speculations.

Coaches are always questioned,”

he responded.

“But I understand that after the second half there will be questions. We’re disappointed and we wonder what happened in the second half. We have to move on and we have to prepare for next season.”
