Rahimi Refuses to Move to the Saudi League

The star of Al Ain Club in the UAE sends a clear message about his future and expresses his commitment to the team despite Saudi interest

The star of Al Ain Club in the UAE, Sofiane Rahimi, responded to rumors linking him with a move to one of the Saudi League clubs next season, after he shone remarkably with his Emirati team and led it to win the Asian Champions League title for the first time in 21 years. This brilliant performance made him the focus of interest of the major Saudi clubs, according to press reports.

Rahimi scored two goals in a match where Al Ain beat Yokohama Marinos of Japan with a score of 5-1 in the second leg of the Asian Champions League final, to crown the Emirati team with the title with a total score of 6-3 after losing the first leg 1-2.

Rahimi gained the attention of the media and clubs thanks to his outstanding performance in the tournament, where he scored 13 goals, more by a margin of 5 goals than any other player, and won the best player award in the tournament.

Despite receiving great support from the fans of Saudi clubs on social media platforms, the 27-year-old Moroccan striker confirmed in his statements to SSC channel that he is committed to his contract with Al Ain Club and respects his obligations towards the club and intends to stay there.

Sofiane Rahimi’s contract with Al Ain extends until June 2025, which makes him committed to staying with the team for at least the upcoming period.
