Stroppa: ‘crucial’ game against Cagliari after Juventus ‘cut our legs’

The Crotone boss admits that their upcoming game will play an important role in both teams’ fate in the Serie A table as he revealed to be pleased with their performance against the Old Lady.

Crotone

head-coach, Giovanni Stroppa, believes that their next match against

Cagliari

will play a decisive role in their future since both teams are fighting to escape the drop-zone at the bottom of the Serie A table.

Crotone’s last match ended with a 3-0 defeat to

Juventus

after

Cristiano Ronaldo

earned his side a brace to be followed by a goal from

Weston McKennie

.

Talking about their defeat, Stroppa told

Sky Sport Italia

:

“The goals cut our legs. But I liked the reaction.”

“The four-man defence is something we tried during the week, it’s clear that we can’t improvise.”

“It’s normal when we weren’t used to man marking. We conceded more and we had a defensive phase of sacrifice.”

Later adding about their upcoming match against Leonardo Semplici’s men, he said:

“There are fewer and fewer games to go, the next one is crucial,” he continued. “It wasn’t tonight’s game that would make sense of our future.”

“I’m happy with the performance.”
