Bayern's this season’s profit was just €9.8 million

Bayern Munich have released their financial results for the 2019/20 season which show a significant decrease in their revenues compared to the last season.

Although

Bayern

have experienced a historical season by winning the treble, this couldn’t protect them from the Covid pandemic damage the other club are experiencing.

Their reported total revenue was €698 million at the end of the year, down from €750.4 million for the 2018/19 period, which means their operating profit after tax was dropped down from last season’s €52.5 million to €9.8 million this season.

However, the club’s chief executive,

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

, was optimistic about their financial report due to the major struggles the coronavirus pandemic brought.

“The coronavirus pandemic placed great strain on the whole of football in the 2019/20,”

said

Rummenigge

.

“For example, we have had no spectators in the Allianz Arena since 8th March. Against this backdrop, both the revenue generated and the fact we were able to end the past season with a profit are positive.”
