Maradona’s cause of death has been revealed
Argentinean newspaper, Olé, has revealed the results of the late Argentine icon’s autopsy, and it’s been confirmed the legend didn’t take drugs or alcohol before his death.
The world of football was saddened by
Diogo Maradona’s
death on November 25
th
as tributes came from around the world to salute the football icon.
The judge ordered an autopsy on
Maradona’s
body to ascertain the possible responsibility of his medical staff as some of the
psychotropic drugs
that had been prescribed for him could have caused
arrhythmia
. According to his post-mortem examination, his death was occurred because of an
acute pulmonary oedema
, associated with the exacerbation of chronic
heart failure
, as his heart which had a dilated myocardiopathy weighed almost twice a normal heart’s weight, 503 grams.
Other issues that were found in
Maradona’s
body were Traces of cirrhosis inside the liver and seven damaged alveolus inside the lungs, while the kidneys had an acute tubular necrosis. Reportedly, the Napoli legend did not take drugs or alcohol before his death.
