Matarazzo: ‘I look forward to seeing’ Reyna
Pellegrino Matarazzo has admitted that he is an admirer of his compatriot Gio Reyna and he looks forward to seeing him on Saturday.
It has been nearly a year since
Pellegrino Matarazzo
took the charge as the head coach for
VfB Stuttgart.
He is the first American-born full-time head coach in Germany’s top flight.
During his time as the head coach, he had 26 league games in which they won 11 matches, drew eight games, and just lost seven of them. He has also steered his team to promotion as Bundesliga 2 runners-up at the end of 2019/20.
They are currently eighth in the
Bundesligatable after their 2-1 victory over Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Matarazzo has admitted that he is an admirer of his compatriot Gio Reyna who plays for
Borussia Dortmund.
Both teams are going to meet on Saturday.
“He’s a fantastic player with enormous potential,” Matarazzo said. “I like seeing how he develops. He’s quick on the ball, very sharp, good movement. I like him. I look forward to seeing him.”
