How will Germany line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022?

Many are waiting to see what the Germans can do in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar since it would be their first major tournament with a new head coach. How will this new head coach lineup the Germans? Welcome to how will Germany line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Germany will be eager to make up following a disastrous performance in defending the World Cup title in 2018, as they enter a major tournament without Joachim Low for the first time in over two decades.

Low worked as an assistant to Jurgen Klinsmann as Die Mannschaft reached the semifinals on home soil in 2006 before embarking on his own illustrious 15-year run as head coach.

The pinnacle of that era was Germany's fourth global title in Brazil in 2014, and although a poor European Championship campaign last year marked Low's goodbye, his former assistant, Hansi Flick, will head an enthusiastic new generation eager to make apologies.

How will Germany line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022?

While the starting eleven can include anybody from the list of the World cup squad announced by Germany recently, we think that the choices for the 11-player lineup is pretty apparent. Thus, here's a guess of what we might see in the game as the starting eleven.

  • GK

    : Manuel Neuer

  • RB

    : Lukas Klostermann

  • CB

    : Niklas Sule

  • CB

    : Antonio Rudiger

  • LB

    : David Raum

  • DM

    : Jashua Kimmich

  • CM

    : Ilkay Gundogan

  • RW

    : Serge Gnabry

  • AM

    : Thomas Muller

  • LW

    : Leroy Sane

  • CF

    : Timo Werner

The schedule of Germany's group-stage matches is as follows:

  • Wed, Nov. 23, 8 a.m.

: Germany vs. Japan, Khalifa Int'l

  • Sun, Nov. 27, 2 p.m.

: Spain vs. Germany, Al Bayt

  • Thurs, Dec. 1, 2 p.m.

: Costa Rica vs. Germany, Al Bayt

Now let's get to the lineup and talk about each player individually.

GK: Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer

of Bayern Munich will be the goalkeeper in Qatar, provided he recovers from his physical difficulties in time. However, Neuer has been absent from some of Bayern's Bundesliga games, raising worries about his fitness.

Neuer suffered the injury in training before the Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund in early October.

Ahead of the Barcelona game, in which Neuer did not play due to an ongoing injury, a German sports magazine kicker speculated that Neuer might not return until November 5, only nine days before Germany's World Cup training camp in Oman.

Even if Neuer is ruled out owing to fitness issues, Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen is a formidable alternative.

RB: Lukas Klostermann

Röhl, Germany's assistant, spoke about RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann. The former DFB starting fullback might be the answer for die Nationalmannschaft in the right fullback post. Despite this, the 18-time international is dealing with his own injury issues. This season, he has only made one appearance.

"We want to find out if such sorts of players are ready for the World Cup and, if so, in what shape," Röhl said of Klostermann, who should be fit for his club team in time to compete. "[The issue is] if he will be usable in the tournament," Röhl said.

CB: Niklas Sule

Sule has a lot of experience regarding national games. This player represented Germany in the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

He was a member of the German team that won the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Süle was called up to the German national team in August 2016 for games against Finland and Norway. He was substituted against Finland in the 59th minute.

Joachim Löw nominated Süle to Germany's final 23-man roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Süle made his World Cup debut on June 27 in the last group stage encounter, a 2-0 defeat to South Korea, as Germany was knocked out of the World Cup in the first round for the first time since 1938.

It will be no surprise if he makes it into the starting eleven.

CB: Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger

is very certain to start as a center-back, with one of Dortmund's Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck or David Raum likely to partner the Real Madrid player. In May 2014, Rudiger made his international debut for Germany.

He was forced to miss UEFA Euro 2016 owing to an early season injury, but he was a member of the side that won the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. He remained in the team for the 2018 World Cup and then competed in UEFA Euro 2020.

LB: David Raum

Raum is a talented young player who should be in the starting lineup.

Raum appeared in every game for Germany's U21 squad on their path to the European Championship championship in the summer of 2021, as well as every minute of Germany's Olympic campaign in Tokyo.

He then made his senior international debut, appearing for seven minutes in Germany's 6-0 victory over Armenia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. North Macedonia and Armenia also got their start when Germany won Group J and qualified.

DM: Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich

has the potential to be the World Cup's star in 2022. He is the world's top midfielder.

A 2017 article on the Bundesliga's official website described Kimmich as a "veritable Swiss Army knife of a player," highlighting Guardiola's transformation of a player he previously referred to as "one of the finest defensive midfielders in the world" into a right-back.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan

Gundogan

is the type of player that every team desires in their squad: a solid and consistent performance. Gündoan made his senior debut for Germany in 2011, having previously represented the country at the under-18, under-19, under-20, and under-21 levels. He was included in Germany's teams for UEFA Euro 2012, the FIFA World Cup in 2018, and UEFA Euro 2020.

RW: Serge Gnabry

The Bayern Munich star is the DFB's most troubled player. He's been out of condition for months, both at the club and with the national team. Nonetheless, it is impossible to see Flick leaving him out.

AM: Thomas Muller

The space investigator has battled for form this season, but there is no questioning his importance to Germany. Müller's position is that of an attacking all-rounder, a flexible player who can play in a number of offensive positions. Given his expertise and his play style, he may be a nightmare for the opposition team to deal with.

LW: Leroy Sane

Sané's

performances often swing between genius and irrelevance, and Germany will be hoping for more of the former in Qatar. He is an important element of Die Mannschaft's strategy and contributes significantly to Der FCB. In Bavaria, Julian Nagelsmann has Sane providing the whole package down the left flank.

CF: Timo Werner

Werner

, a German international, was a prolific striker for Germany at the youth international level, netting 34 goals in 48 appearances across all age groups. Werner made his senior debut in 2017 and helped Germany win the FIFA Confederations Cup that year, earning the Golden Boot as the tournament's top goalscorer.

He also played for Germany in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2020.

Following a dismal period at Chelsea, he is still lacking in confidence. He will need to improve if Germany is to have a chance to win the tournament.
