To begin with, Harry Billy Winks is his full name. As Harry Winks is named, his mum, Anita Winks, and father, Gary Winks, were born in Hemel Hempstead, UK, on the 2nd day of February 1996. Harry was born to a family that was football-loving. Formerly a semi-professional player, his father Gary played for Hemel and Berkhamsted. Harry Winks, the English international midfielder, was born and raised in Hemel Hempstead, England, on 2 February 1996. Winks is a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, along with his parents, and attended his first match at White Hart Lane when he was six.

In July 2012, Winks signed his pro deal with

Hotspur Academy and went on to make 13 starts in 2012/13 with their Under-18s, even featuring in two FA Youth Cup ties and four games with NextGen.

Harry wanted to move out of the family home at age 16 to live by the Spurs training ground to devote his life to his dreams. For the Winks family, the decision was not an easy one. Anita, according to his son,

He will only be seen by Harry's parents one evening a week. According to Harry, it was the hardest thing he had done in his entire life to move from the family home to live with strangers he had never met.

Winks is a product of the youth system at

. He routinely trained with the first-team squad during the 2013-14 season and was placed on the senior bench for the first time in a Premier League tie against Liverpool on 30 March 2014, staying an unused substitute at Anfield in a 4-0 defeat.

Winks signed his first professional contract with Tottenham on 27 July 2014; Mauricio Pochettino said, according to Winks, that after seeing footage of his performances, he decided to sign Winks immediately.

He made his first-team debut on 27 November 2014 in the UEFA Europa League group against FK Partizan in a 1–0 home victory at White Hart Street, replacing Paulinho after 87 minutes.

On 6 July 2015, with the possibility of an extra year, Winks signed a new deal with Tottenham until 2018. He was assigned jersey number 29, which was included on the list of first-team numbers for the club. In a 3–1 victory over Qarabağ FK, Winks made his first start of the season as a late substitute.

He made his Premier League debut on 27 August 2016, replacing Christian Eriksen in a 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool in the last minute of the match.

Winks made his full debut against West Ham United on 19 November 2016, playing well and scoring his first-ever goal for Spurs to tie the match at 1–1.

After scoring two late goals, Tottenham went on to win the match 3–2 in a thrilling end at White Hart Road. Winks made his FA Cup debut on 8 January 2017 when, in the match against Aston Villa in the third round, he was picked for the side.
