Brendan Rodgers warns Graham Potter of 'different pressure' at Chelsea

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter has attracted the attention of the Blues after the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel due to a poor start to the season. The Blues confirmed the appointment of the English coach on Thursday.

Congratulating the former Brighton boss for his new job,

Brendan Rodgers

, who previously worked as an assistant coach at Chelsea, warned Potter of the new pressure he going to endeavor as the Blues boss.

The

Leicester City

boss told a press conference ahead of their Saturday's clash with

Aston Villa

:

"It's a different pressure.

"He's done fantastic at Brighton, they've really developed. They're strategically well run behind the scenes.

"It's that next step and it will be a fantastic move for him."

 

The new Chelsea boss is also shortlisted alongside

Mikel Arteta

, Antonio Conte,

Pep Guardiola

, and Fulham's Marco Silva for the

Premier League’s August Manager of the Month

award.

While the star-stuffed Chelsea has gained 10 points in their 6 opening matches, Potter's Brighton has gathered 13 points. Chelsea has acted upon a reported £16million release clause in his contract to bring the 47-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter's first assignment as the Blues boss will be the derby at

Fulham

this weekend.
