The title tells everything! We’re not going to talk about the world's most valuable soccer teams but about the footballers who experienced the highest rise in their value in the previous season (2019-20). Who are they really and what is the rate of the rise in their market value?

Before anything else, we should tell you that footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season are not necessarily from

world's most valuable soccer teams

. They are even from lesser known clubs like Norwich City who have been recently promoted to Premier League; what is important here is the rise in the market value of these players.

And if you thought we’re going to introduce

ten players with the highest market value

increase in 2019-20 season, you’re wrong because the number is actually 30. We don’t have no ten players with the highest market value increase but 30 with that criterion.

The List of Footballers with the Highest Market Value Increase in 2019-20 Season

The list, as mentioned above, is comprised of 30 players and we’re just going to introduce them in the ascending order which means the first footballer on the list is actually the footballer with the lowest increase in his market value in 2019-20 season.

Gabriel Veron ($19.8 Million)

The first Brazilian footballer on the list of footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season, Gabriel Veron is an 18-year-footballer who’s been serving the Brazilian club,

Palmeiras

, since 2019. His market value in November 2019 was $7.7m which rose to $27.5m in February 2020 registering the highest rise in his market value history: $19.8m, however, that didn’t continue as his value decreased to $24.7m in April 2020 and after a slight rise again to $27.5m in September 2020, it decreased to $19.8m as of May 2021.

Reinier ($22 Million)

The former Borussia Dortmund and the current Real Madrid midfielder, Reinier Jesus Carvalho, simply known as Reinier, experienced the biggest rise in his market value when he was still with Brazilian club, Flamengo. His market value in August 2019 was just $5.5m which increased to $16.5m in October 2019 and then to $27.5m in November 2019 - more than 5 times higher than his previous value in just less than a year, however, his market value has decreased since - actually since he’s been to European clubs - and reached $17.6m as of June 2021.

Todd Cantwell ($23.1 Million)

The young and promising midfielder of Norwich City, Tod Cantwell, also experienced a rise in his market value in 2019-20 season, though not much but at least higher than $20m and enough to bring him on the list of

. In June 2019, his market value was just a mere $1.1m, but in just less than a year, actually in March 2020, it reached $24.2m, which, as you see, is more than 20 times higher than his value in early 2019, however, that value decreased to $18.7m in December 2020, but later in June 2021, it rose again to $24.2m.

Donyell Malen ($23.1 Million)

forward, Donyell Malen, experienced a $23.1m increase in his market value in 2019-20 season. His value, from $7.7m in June 2019, soared to $30.8m in in December 2019, however, it didn’t rise any further as it decreased to $27.5m in April 2020 and remained almost the same for the remainder of the season. But again in March 2021 it rose to $33m.

Tyrone Mings ($25.3 Million)

A product of the Premier League club, Southampton, who has served five other English clubs including Ipswich Town and AFC Bournemouth since the start of his career in 2011, Tyrone Mings is a 28-year-old English defender - actually center back - who’s been with the Premier League club, Aston Villa, since 2019. His market value in June 2019, while he was still with

, was $5.5m, however, as he made his return to the Premier League with Aston Villa in January 2020, his market value soared to $19.8m in September 2019 and later to $30.8m in December 2019, and after a slight decrease to $24.7m in April 2020, it rose to even the higher amount of $33m in March 2021.

Gabriel Martinelli ($25.3 Million)

The 20-year-old Brazilian forward who’s been recruited by Arsenal just one season after the start of his career, Gabriel Martinelli has been serving Arsenal since 2019, and his market value has actually soared since he has joined the

Premier League

club; actually one month after he did so: In August 2019, Martinelli’s market value was something around $5.5m which, in just less than a year, actually in March 2020, rose to $30.8m, though later on it decreased to $27.5m and just recently, in June 2021, to $24.2m.

Gaetano Castrovilli ($25.6 Million)

The first Italian footballer on the list of footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season, Gaetano Castrovilli is a 24-year-old midfielder who’s been serving the Serie A club, Fiorentina, since 2017 - actually playing for them since 2019 because he was on loan to another Italian club, namely Cremonese, in the first two years that he joined Fiorentina. Castrovilli’s market value just before his return to Fiorentina in June 2019 was $1.9m which better said rocketed to $27.5m in December 2019. After that, his market value experienced a period of decrease to $22m between April and August 2020, rose again to $27.5m in December 2020 and lowered again to $22m in May 2021.

Marash Kumbulla ($26.7 Million)

The only footballer on the list of footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season whose market value has not increased from a million-dollar base, Marash Kumbulla is a 21-year-old Albanian footballer who’s been serving AS Roma since 2020 on loan. Kumbulla’s market value was only $830K in June 2019 when he was with

Hellas Verona

; that value actually rose to $27.5m in March 2020 - he was still with Hellas Verona - and after a slight decrease to $24.7m in April 2020, it rose to $29.7m when he was with Roma, and again decreased to $27.5m in June 2021.

Caglar Soyuncu ($27.5 Million)

Caglar Soyuncu’s base value in 2019 was actually higher than all the other footballers already mentioned in this post: $16.5m, however, the 25-year-old Turkish defender’s value did not rise too high so that its increase rate has a wide margin with already-mentioned footballers in this post. As mentioned, Soyuncu’s value in 2019 - actually June 2019 - was $16.5m which rose to $44m in December 2019.

Although the amount to which it rose ($44.5) is higher than the market value of footballers already mentioned in this post, the increase rate, as you see, is only $27.5m which is not ahead by a wide margin. It should also be mentioned here that Soyuncu’s value experienced an almost $10m decrease to $35.2 million in April 2020 but rose again to its previous value of $44.5m in just three month in July 2020 and took another rise to $49.5m in May 2021. Soyuncu has been serving Leicester City since 2018.

Denis Zakaria ($27.5 Million)

Having experienced the same market value rise as Caglar Soyuncu’s, Denis Zakaria is a 22-year-old Swiss midfielder who’s been serving the German club,

Borussia Monchengladbach

, since 2017. His market value in June 2019 was $22m which rose to $49.5m in December of the same year experiencing a $27.5m rise, though it took on a decreasing fashion later and lowered to $33m as of May 2021.

Ansu Fati ($27.5 Million)

Barcelona’s much-celebrated young talent, Ansu Fati, is the only footballer on the list of

whose base value in 2019 is actually the same as his market value rise in 2019-20 season: $27.5m. Fati’s market value in September 2019, as mentioned, was $27.5m which took a rise to $44m in December 2019, and then a decrease to $39.6m in April 2020, however, it rose again to $55m at the end of the 2019-20 season, actually in July 2020. It might be interesting for you to know that Fati’s market value experienced a $33m rise to $88m in October 2020, although it decreased later to $66m in June 2021.

Luis Alberto ($27.5 Million)

Actually the footballer with the highest base market value in 2019-20 season on the list, Luis Alberto is a 28-year-old Spanish winger whose been serving the

Serie A

club, Lazio, since 2016. His base value in June 2019 was $30.8m which took a rise to $44m in December 2019 and then another rise to $60.5m in March 2020 registering a market value increase of $27.5m for him in 2019-20 season.

It might interesting for you to know that the highest rise Alberto has experienced in his market value was actually in 2017-18 season where his value rose from $3.3m in June 2017 to $38.5 in June 2018 which meant his value had arisen by $35.2m in the same season, a rise that Alberto never experienced when he was with Liverpool or Barcelona.

Bukayo Saka ($30.8 Million)

Bukayo Saka has been playing for Arsenal since 2018 - he also played for Arsenal youth academy before that. Saka’s market value in September 2019 was just $7.7m, however, he experienced a steady rise in his value in 2019-20 season: His market value just doubled in a month and reached $14.3m in December 2019. Then again, in March 2020, it rose to $24.2m and with a slight decrease to $22m in April 2020 it rose again to $38.5m in July 2020. And it might be interesting for you to know that that rising fashion in Saka’s value continued over time increasing his value to $71.5m in May 2021.

Theo Hernandez ($33 Million)

AC Milan’s 23-year-old defender, Theo Hernandez, has also served Real Madrid sometime during his career - actually from 2017 to 2019, however, the increase he experienced in his market value when with AC Milan is not comparable to the one he experienced with

Real Madrid

. In fact, Hernandez’s market value decreased from $22m in August 2017 to $16.5m in May 2018 while he was still with the Whites. This is as his market value in June 2019 when he was on loan to Real Sociedad from Real Madrid - the same $16.5m - reached $19.80m in October 2019 after he joined AC Milan in July 2019 and then soared to $44m as of March 2020. It might be interesting for you to know that, after a decrease to $35.2m in April 2020, Hernandez’s market value has again taken on a rising fashion reaching $55m in June 20201.

Ferran Torres ($33 Million)

Although currently with Manchester City, the 21-year-old Spanish winger, Ferran Torres, experienced the biggest rise in his market value while with the Spanish club, Valencia, and between December 2018 and March 2020. In December 2018, Torres’ market value was just $5.5m which soared to $55m in March 2020, in a stairway fashion indeed. And his market value increase in 2019-20 season? Well, that is $33m which comes from the fact that it was $22m in June 2019 and then, as mentioned above, soared to $55m in March 2020. Since then, Torres’ market value just experienced a slight decrease to $49.5m before he joined Manchester City and then again rose to its previous value of $55m.

Tammy Abraham ($33 Million)

also experienced a $33m increase in his market value during 2019-20 season. His market value from $22m in June 2019 soared to $55m in December 2019, though later it took on a decreasing fashion and lowered to $44m in April 2020 and later to $41.8m in June 2021.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ($33 Million)

One of the only two footballers on the list of footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season whose market value surpassed $100m in 2019-20 season, Trent Alexander-Arnold is a product of

Liverpool

who’s been serving the same club since 2016. His market value in June 2019 was $88m which rose to $121m in December 2019 and after that also took on a decreasing fashion reaching $82.5m in March 2021. It should also be mentioned here that Alexander-Arnold’s market value in January 2018 was only $8.8m which rose to $38.5m in October 2018 and then to $55m in March 2019 before it actually took another rise to $88m in June 2019.

Sadio Mane ($33 Million)

Also a Liverpool player since 2016 just like Trent Alexander-Arnold and the second footballer on the list whose market value surpassed $100m in 2019-20 season, Sadio Mane is a 29-year-old Senegalese footballer who experienced the biggest rise in his value just before the start of 2019-20 season when his value soared from $93.5m in March 2019 to $132m in June 2019 which translates to a $38.5m rise. Mane’s market value from $132m in June 2019 soared again to $165m in December 2019 which means he experienced a $33m rise in his value in 2019-20 season, though later it took on a decreasing fashion and lowered to $93.5m in June 2021.

Mason Mount ($36.3 Million)

His market value rose from $13.2 in June 2019 to $49.5m in December 2019 which translates to a $36.3m rise. And since then, after a slight decrease to $44.5m in April 2019, it has continued its rise and reached $82.5m in March 2021.

Lucas Ocampos ($38.5 Million)

From December 2011 to June 2019, the market value of Sevilla’s winger, Lucas Ocampos, just rose by $12.1 m - from $4.4m to $16.5m, but in just one year and after he joined Sevilla in July 2019, it rocketed to $55m in July 2020 registering a $38.5m rise in 2019-20 season - actually three times his market value rise from 2011 to 2019. However, it took on a decreasing fashion later and reached $44m in June 2021.

Having recently joined Real Madrid - actually in 2021, Eduardo Camavinga is an 18-year-old Angolan midfielder who served the French club, Rennes, for three years before joining Real Madrid and he also experienced the biggest rise in his market value, naturally, when he was with the French club: Camavinga’s market value in June 2019 was $4.4m which took on a steady rise and reached $46.2m in March 2020 registering a $41.8m rise in his market value.

Dejan Kulusevski ($42.9 Million)

The only Swedish footballer on the list of footballers with the highest market value increase in 2019-20 season, Dejan Kulusevski is a 21-year-old midfielder who’s been serving Juventus since 2020, however, he actually experienced the highest rise in his market value when still with another Italian club, namely Atalanta, and exactly when he was loaned to

Parma

: Kulusevski’s market value in June 2019 - when he was with Atalanta - was only $1.1m, but after he was loaned to Parma, it took on a rising fashion reaching $6.6m in October 2019, $38.5m in February 2020, and after a slight decrease to $34.6m in April 2020, it rose again to $44m in August 2020.

Federico Valverde ($44 Million)

The 23-year-old Uruguayan midfielder of Real Madrid, Federico Valverde, has actually been serving the

club since 2017 and has also experienced the biggest rise in his market value when with them. In June 2019, Valverde’s market value was $22m which took its highest rise since the start of his career to $55m in December 2019, and after that, it took another rise to $66m in March 2020 registering a $44m rise in his market value in 2019-20 season.

Alphonso Davies ($55 Million)

From $11m in June 2019 to $66m in July 2020; that’s the increase Bayern Munich’s 20-year-old Ghanaian winger and left back, Alphonso Davies, experienced in his market value in 2019-20 season which is actually the biggest rise in his value since the start of his career. Except for a slight decrease in from $55m in March 2020 to $49.5m in April 2020, Davies’s value took on a steady rise during 2019-20 season and as mentioned above reached its $66m peak at the end of the season in July 2020.

Although his market value always increased from the start of his career, it actually registered its highest rise and also reached its peak during 2019-20 season. Martinez’s value in June 2019 was $33m which, after a moderate rise to $44m in October 2019, suddenly rocketed to $88m in December 2019, and although it lowered soon to $70.4m in April 2020, it rose again to $88m in June 2021.

Erling Haaland ($82.5 Million)

, Erling Haaland is Borussia Dortmund’s 21-year-old forward who experienced a $82.5m rise in his market value in 2019-20 season. Haaland’s market value when he had just joined the Austrian club,

, was $5.5m which took on a steady rise and reached $88m in March 2020 registering a $82.5m rise for him. And it might be interesting for you to know that that steady rise continued into 2021 and reached $143m in June 2021.
