Italy

coach

Roberto Mancini

has warned his country's fans not to anticipate a major generational shift when the country takes on Argentina in June. Lorenzo Insigne and

Ciro Immobile

will be among those who will be honored as winners of the Euros.

Having gone from hoisting the EURO 2020 title at

Wembley Stadium

in June 2021 to missing out on the 2022 World Cup after losing the play-offs to

North Macedonia

, it has been an eventful year for the Azzurri.

On June 1, Mancini will be back at Wembley Stadium for the inaugural edition of the Finalissima - a showpiece match between the winners of the European Championship and the Copa America that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

While many have called for a generational shift in the wake of the World Cup disaster, Mancini has cautioned against expecting drastic changes. In an interview with RAI Sport, the CT stated, "There aren't that many options to choose from."

"As we did against Turkey, a few young players will be given an opportunity, but if everyone is available, it will be the players who won the Euros against

Argentina

who will take the field. " This is due to the fact that they earned this match by winning the European Championship."

Following the harsh criticism they received following their country's elimination from the World Cup, Insigne and Immobile have stated that they have not yet decided whether or not to continue their international careers. In particular, Mancini stated that "they will be there, especially for the opening game against Argentina." This is the plan for now, and we'll see how things turn out after that.

It's been a month since the World Cup play-off, and the disappointment is still with us, but there are times when things don't go your way and there's nothing you can do about it," says the coach
