Xavi's Exit: The Premier League Beckons

From Barcelona's Pitch to England's Arena, Xavi Eyes a New Challenge

Xavi's tenure as Barcelona's manager concluded last month after nearly three years, with the club announcing his departure before Hansi Flick's arrival. Following this, the former Spain midfielder is now preparing to take a break, but Sport reports he finds the Premier League an "intriguing" prospect as he considers his next steps.

Xavi's departure from

was a drawn-out affair, beginning with his announcement in January that he would leave at the end of the season, only to reverse his decision and stay for another year. Eventually, the club dismissed him after finishing second in La Liga, trailing rivals Real Madrid by 10 points.

During his time as manager, Xavi navigated the club through significant financial difficulties and secured the Liga title in 2022-23, adding to the eight titles he won as a player. Renowned as one of Barcelona's most iconic figures, he also accumulated three Copa del Rey trophies and four Champions League victories during his playing career.

Despite his current plans for a sabbatical, the 44-year-old remains focused on his coaching ambitions. A potential move to the Premier League would likely see him following in the footsteps of his former Barcelona mentor, Pep Guardiola, who has achieved remarkable success with Manchester City.
