Szczesny's Saudi Arabian Adventure Beckons

Juventus' veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny edges closer to a surprise move as talks with Saudi Pro League heat up, signaling a new chapter in his illustrious career

The Saudi Pro League team has initiated discussions to acquire the services of Poland's international goalkeeper, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Additionally, it's understood that the Italian club is ready to offload the 34-year-old, with Monza's Michele Di Gregorio potentially signing for a significant fee of £15.3 million ($19.4m). Meanwhile, Juventus is likely to extend a new contract to backup goalkeeper Mattia Perin, paving the way for Szczesny's departure.

Financially, selling Szczesny this summer makes sense for Juventus, especially with his contract expiring in 2025. Since joining from

Arsenal

seven years ago, the 34-year-old has made 252 appearances for the Serie A club, proving to be a successful acquisition. However, it appears a new chapter is on the horizon for him.

During his tenure with Juventus, Szczesny has clinched three Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia three times, and two Italian Super Cups. Additionally, he has continued to accumulate caps for Poland, currently standing at 81.

Looking ahead, as the former Roma and Brentford loanee mulls over his future, he is gearing up to represent Poland in Euro 2024. His national team will face the Netherlands, Austria, and France in the group stages of the tournament.
