Roma and Leverkusen keen on signing Azmoun

Roma and Bayer Leverkusen are competing for the Zenit St Petersburg striker’s signature, trying to acquire his services for €18m.

As per reports from

Sky Sport Italia

and

Sportitalia

,

Zenit

have not made a decision regarding selling

Sardar Azmoun

this summer, but

Roma

and

Bayer Leverkusen

are keen on acquiring the Iran international.

His current deal is due to end in June 2022 and the extension talks are not going as planned.

The Iranian striker’s demanding price is about €25m, but Bayer Leverkusen’s offer stands around €18m in cash.

Roma, however, would rather offer money plus players to lower the cost. Azmoun joined Zenit in 2019 from Rubin Kazan on a €12m fee.

The 26-year-old met the back of the net 19 times in 24 matches last season, but could not score in four Champions League games.

Azmoun found the back of the net 34 times in 52 senior caps for Iran and has been playing in Russia for eight years.
