Aubameyang is cut out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad as Felix, Mudryk and Fernandez make it

Potter delivers on his promise of awkward discussions as he omits Aubameyang from Chelsea’s Champions League squad.

Chelsea’s Gabonese striker

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang

has been left out of their squad for the Champions League by manager Graham Potter so their host of new signings like Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk could be registered to play in the competition.

Aubameyang last started a game for

Chelsea

in November and this exclusion wasn’t a shock as the Gabon striker has been going down the pecking order. he has only scored 3 goals in 18 games.

Despite scoring in two Champions League games against AC Milan, home and away, Aubameyang was deemed surplus to the requirement, instead the likes of Kai Havertz, Joao Felix and Mudryk have been chosen to replace him as attackers. Raheem Sterling might also start up front for Chelsea, despite being listed as a midfielder.

Besides Aubameyang, the new signings, Badiashile, Andrey Santos, David Fofana and Madueke have all been excluded from the list, with Hakim Zyiech being the unlikely inclusion.
