Barcelona to break world-record fee for Euro 2022 winner Keira Walsh

The England international has attracted the interest of the European giants Barcelona as the Blaugrana battling time to sign the Man City star before the Wednesday deadline.

are still in advanced talks to sign the England hero,

Keira Walsh

from the English club.

Manchester City

is reluctant to sell as well, having rejected three previous offers Barcelona made to sign

the Lionesses midfielder

, Keira Walsh. However, City is already looking at possible replacements for the Women's European Championship 2022 winner who is in the final year of her contract.

Pernille Harder

's £300k move to

Chelsea

from Wolfsburg in September 2020 was the previous world record fee paid for a female player as City wants the Spanish giants to break that record to sign Walsh.

 

Being named the player of the final match, Walsh played a key role for England as they won

Euro 2022

this summer. The 25-year-old has made 189 appearances since her City debut in 2014, scoring eight goals. A regular for Lionesses, Walsh has also capped 49 times for her national team.
