Juventus January Transfer Window of 2022: Live Updates

The Old Lady of Calcio has undergone big changes. Let's see how Bianconeri finds their path to glory in the January transfer window of 2022.

Juventus was lucky to get the qualifications for Champions League last season under

Andrea Pirlo

. This summer

Massimiliano Allegri

returned to Bianconeri but Juventus, unlike Conte's team, is not dominant. Since Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, Juventus has had a scoring problem. Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean are not the solutions to this problem.

The next priority for Juve could be a creative playmaker midfielder. Claudio Marchisio, Miralem Pjanic, and Pirlo were playing a critical role in the 2010's success.

Adrien Rabiot

and Manuel Locatelli have not fulfilled the expectations. The defense line is still solid and their main strength. Atalanta, Lazio, Roma, and Fiorentina are threatening the last slot of Champions League Qualification. In the current season, Juventus will focus on being among the top four. Max Allegri is confident about his team's final results.

Rodrigo Bentancur

On the last day of the 2022 winter transfer window, Rodrigo Bentancur left Juventus for Tottenham Hotspur. Bentancur is a product of the Boca Juniors youth academy system. The 24 years old midfielder left Argentina after three seasons, 51 league caps, and a single goal. The Uruguayan international player joined Juve on July 1st, 2017. The deal was made with a €21 million fee until the end of 2022.

Bentancur won 7 major trophies at Turin including three consecutive Serie A championships. He made a total of 181 appearances for Juventus and scored 3 goals. Tottenham is the third club of his professional career. Bentancur has represented Uruguay national team since 2017. Oscar Tabarez called him up for the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. He later was included in the World Cup's last 23 man squad. In a total of 47 national caps, he has scored one goal for Uruguay.

Tottenham's Italian executive, Fabio Paratici played a big role in this transfer. Paratici used to be the football director of Juventus. He lately hired

Antonio Conte

as

Nuno Espirito

's replacement. The initial fee is reported to be €19 million, with a chance to rise to €25 million

Denis Zakaria

Here is the club's second signing in Juventus January 2022 transfers. In

Juventus’ January transfer window of 2022

, the club signed The 25 year old Swiss midfielder on a four and a half year deal with a €5 million fee plus €3 million add ons, from Borussia Moenchengladbach.

After a year playing in a local club, Servette, he was transferred to Young Boys and made his Swiss super league debut in 2015. He played for two years in 50 matches. In 2016, he moved from U21 to the senior squad of the Switzerland national team and also was a part of the squad for the 2016 European Championship. In 2017, he signed a contract with Borussia Moenchengladbach for five years with a transfer fee of €10 million. In four and a half years in Bundesliga, he appeared in 125 games, scoring 11 goals.

With Zakaria joining Juventus as a replacement for Bentancur, Allegri will have more choices in midfield. He can play besides

Locatelli

, or he can allow Locatelli to play a more advanced role and not just sit in front of the defense like he had to in the first half of his first season in Juventus.

Dejan Kulusevski

It’s a busy day for Juventus. Another deal with the former sporting director and former head coach. The 21 year old right winger or midfielder has joined Tottenham on a one year and a half loan with an obligation to buy. The loan fee is €10 million for one year and a half, and the fee for buy obligation is €35 million under certain conditions like Champions League qualification and appearances.

Kulusevski’s first senior club was Atalanta, but he wasn’t fixed so for more playtime, he was loaned to Parma for the 2019-2020 season. In January 2020, Kulusefski joined Juventus on a year and a half deal for €35 million, which could rise to €44 million with variables. But he was sent back on loan to Parma for the second half of the season and was awarded Serie A Best Young Player Of The Season for his outstanding performance.

The Sweden international joined the Premier League side after their deal with

Luis Diaz

was hijacked by Liverpool. Fabio Paratici oversaw the signings of both Kulusevski from Atalanta in January 2020 and Bentancur from Boca Juniors in 2017 during his time at Juventus.

Aaron Ramsey

In one of Juventus winter 2022 latest transfers & news, the former Arsenal midfielder has joined Rangers on a loan move for the rest of the season. At the beginning of the

January transfer window of 2022

, there were rumors about

Ramsey

going back to Arsenal, and a few days earlier Burnley and Newcastle showed interest in the Wales international.

On the fifth of January, Allegri confirmed that Ramsey will depart from Juventus, ending the club’s nightmare. Ramsey joined Juventus in 2019 on a four year contract and he would receive £400,000 a week, making him one of the highest-earning British players ever based on basic salary. This is his third season with Juventus and he has made 70 appearances, scoring six goals. His performance in Juventus has dropped dramatically since Arsenal and given his high salary, it hasn’t been one of the greatest deals for Juventus.

Initially, it’s been said that Rangers had the option to sign Ramsey permanently in the summer for a fee of around £5m. But then it turned out that Juventus made no mention of a potential fee in the agreement. It’s been reported that Rangers instead have a "purchase pre-emption" option, which means they have a priority to negotiate in advance with Juventus.
