Swedish video game firm Fatshark is developing and producing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a first-person action game set in the Warhammer 40,000 world. In 2022, it will be available solely for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S.

The game will follow a similar structure to Fatshark's Warhammer: Vermintide 2, in which four players work together to destroy AI-controlled foes in waves.

The game was initially revealed in July 2020 during the Xbox Series X and Series S showcase event, where Fatshark teased a 2021 release date. On December 10, 2020, a gameplay trailer was published, showcasing the usage of weaponry such as a Lasgun and a chainsword to battle swarms of Poxwalkers.

An Imperial Guardsman and an Ogryn were shown among the selectable characters. Darktide is expected to be less melee-focused than Vermintide 2, with a 50/50 ratio between melee and ranged combat, according to the creators.

GSC Game World is developing and publishing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, a first-person shooter game.
