The worst thing that can happen to a professional athlete is to accused of rape or sexual assault. In the football world, famous players were convicted of violence and sexual abuse and sentenced to imprisonment.

We should mention that sometimes these complaints are made only to tarnish the face of a famous football player and extort money from the stars of the football world, in which case no verdict is given.

. Back in 2010, a young woman claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo had raped her. Following the publication of a report on the allegations, Ronaldo's agency dismissed the story as “journalistic fiction.”

The American woman claimed that the Portuguese star had raped her in Las Vegas years ago, and that he had paid her to remain silent.

The woman decided to go public for the first time and to fill a complaint against Ronaldo. She claimed to possess a document that could be extremely dangerous for him.

In 2010, Ronaldo’s lawyers and a mediator sat together with the young American woman to seek an out-of-court settlement.

In fact, in 2010, Kathryn Mayorga, a former teacher and model, was raising questions about the validity of a confidentiality agreement and $375,000 (£292,537) hush money she received from the sports star.

She said in court documents she met the Portuguese footballer at a nightclub in 2009 and went with him and other people to his suite at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where he allegedly assaulted her in a bedroom.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, has repeatedly denied Mayorga's accusation that he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel, maintaining that the sex was consensual.

Morgan has commented indirectly on the case via social media, tweeting (and eventually deleting) an article about the Portuguese star titled "Ronaldo Is an Icon of Corruption in Sports."

Moreover, Jasmine Lennard announced that his ex, Cristiano Ronaldo, had threatened to have her “kidnapped” and her body “cut up” in 2019. She called Ronaldo a psychopath.

She reportedly dated the footballer 11 years ago, but said she had recently been communicating with Ronaldo for more than 18 months.

Lennard tweeted, “No one has any idea what he is truly like. If they had half a clue they’d be horrified.”

Lennard then said she also had proof Ronaldo had told her that if she dated anyone else or left her house he would “have me kidnapped and have my body cut up and put in a bag and thrown in a river.”

Despite the above-mentioned facts, the judge said his preliminary review of settlement documents filed under seal in the civil lawsuit led him to agree with Ronaldo's lawyers that the record should, at least for the time, remain sealed.

Neymar

Back in 2019, a woman filed a police report accusing Paris Saint-Germain star 

 of rape. According to reports, the alleged rape had taken place in Paris.

The complainant said she flew from Brazil to France with the intention of meeting the international star after exchanging messages with him on Instagram. According to the reports, the woman said Neymar met her at a hotel and was "drunk" and "aggressive" before forcibly having sex with her without consent.

The woman said she returned to Brazil two days later, upset and scared to speak out. However, she decided to fill the report in Sao Paulo.

On the other hands, Neymar Jr. denied the accusation that he raped the woman in Paris. The woman told police that Neymar provided her with an air ticket from Brazil to France and even paid for her luxury accommodation. He then engaged in sexual intercourse against her will.

To clear his “unjust accusations”, Neymar posted a video clarifying “nothing really happened.”

In an effort to defend himself, Neymar published a series of sexually explicit messages he exchanged with Trindade on social media, including seminude images of his accuser; his team has suggested any sexual contact between the two was consensual.

The police investigator provided details of the investigation. She said the police reviewed forensic, medical, and electronic communications and interviewed Trindade on three occasions. Neymar was questioned by the police in June as he prepared for the Copa América.

The police official in Brazil who was investigating the rape claim against the soccer star Neymar finally recommended that prosecutors close the case.

The investigator said the police had failed to find enough evidence to substantiate an accusation made by the Brazilian model. Therefore, the footballer’s rape accusation case dropped over lack of evidence.

Later, the woman who accused Neymar of raping her was charged with fraud, extortion, and slander by the Brazilian police.

Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery

Karim Mostafa Benzema, born 19 December 1987, is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Real Madrid and the France national team.

Franck Henry Pierre Ribéry, born 7 April 1983, is a French professional footballer who plays for Serie A club Fiorentina.

, two of France’s biggest football stars, were acquitted by a Paris court on charges of having sex with an underage prostitute.

However, both Ribery and Benzema denied the assault: knowingly paying for sex with Zahia Dehar when she was under 18.

She has become one of the most famous names in France since the players were first arrested, building up a career as a reality TV star, and the muse of designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Ribéry, 30, has admitted to having sex with Dehar, but claimed he did not pay and that he did not know she was a prostitute or a minor.

Benzema, 26, denied all the allegations. Neither Ribéry nor Benzema, were present at the trial. They faced up to three years in prison if convicted.

Dehar told investigators that Ribery had flown her to Munich as a birthday present to himself in 2009, when she was still 17.

Dehar garnered international fame following the affair, but decided not to file a civil lawsuit against the two football pros. She became a celebrity following the scandal and has since established herself as a designer of luxury lingerie.

Prostitution is legal in France, but prostitutes must be over 18. The age of consent is 15 in France, but paying for sex with anyone under 18 is a crime. The case has been hanging over the players since July 2010, when a French judge issued preliminary charges against them.

The French judge ruled that there was not enough proof that Ribéry and Benzema, the Real Madrid forward, were aware that the escort-girl Zahia Dehar was a minor at the time of the incidents.

David De Gea

In 2016, De Gea, the Manchester United goalkeeper, was implicated in a sexual assault investigation in Spain. De Gea was accused of setting up encounter between players and women.

De Gea was named by a protected witness as the person who arranged and paid for an encounter between two Spain Under-21 players and two women in a Madrid hotel in 2012. “I am surprised by this,” de Gea said. “I deny it, and that’s it. It’s a lie, false.”

A woman alleged that she was forced to have sexual relations with a “new girl” and two footballers, one of whom is named as the Athletic Bilbao forward Iker Muniain while the other has not been identified but whom she believed to be one of his Spain Under-21 teammates at the time. The other player was later recognized to be the Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

“The encounter was organized by the football player called David de Gea, currently at Manchester United Football Club, who would also be the person who paid for everything that day, as can be seen in a WhatsApp conversation with Muniain,” said a report drawn up by the Spanish police’s central brigade against people trafficking.

De Gea was also named by another witness as the alleged recipient of pornographic videos with a view to arranging meetings with footballers.

Spanish media, citing police sources, reported that De Gea has not broken the law. De Gea denied the allegations, calling them "serious and false." Muniain's agent denied having any knowledge about the case.

Manchester United goalkeeper was the only player not to applaud Spain’s new Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez after he delivered a speech to the national team ahead of the World Cup.

The tension between De Gea and Sanchez can be traced back to 2016 when the player was accused of rape in Spain.

Other less-known cases

After a backlash from the Scottish football community, Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov conceded that there was no immediate future for midfielder Craig Thomson, who was accused of engaging in ''sexual conversations'' with two underage girls over the internet. In an effort to calm the anger, which met this news, he loaned the player to another of his clubs, FBK Kaunas.

. He was exposed in the media for reportedly cheating on his pregnant wife Coleen with a 52-year-old grandmother and with two other £1,000-a-night prostitutes.

Back in 2004, forward Stan Collymore admitted practicing ''dogging'', having sex with strangers in car parks, while Israeli manager Avram Grant was pictured entering a seedy Thai massage parlor, an action which wife Tzofit defended as an innocent gesture by a man looking only for a rubdown.

The former

striker was also charged for raping a 19 year old drunk girl. After being sentenced for five years in prison, Evans was released in 2014 and signed for League One side Chesterfield. Later on, he was not found guilty of the rape charge and saw his reputation ruined due to the false allegations.

Ched Evans was convicted of rape in April 2012 and spent two and a half years in prison. His conviction was quashed on 21 April 2016 by the Court of Appeal, and a retrial was ordered. On 14 October 2016, he was found not guilty. Prior to the retrial, he joined Chesterfield.

Graham Rix was convicted of raping a friend's 15-year-old daughter!

Graham Cyril Rix, born 23 October 1957, is an English former professional football player who later became a manager.

Rix, a football coach who plied a 15-year-old with drink and then had sex with her several times, was sent down for six months.

Rix, the

football coach and former England international, was yesterday sentenced to 12 months imprisonment after admitting two charges of unlawful sex with a 15-year-old girl and indecently assaulting her.

The former Arsenal captain was supposed to be released after serving half his sentence but he would remain on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

Ryan Giggs

The Manchester United legend,
