McKennie linked with moves to Premier League and MLS as contract nears expiration

Weston McKennie, the 25-year-old midfielder, is approaching the final year of his contract with Serie A giants Juventus, signaling a potential departure from Turin this summer. McKennie has been mentioned as a possible part of Juventus' efforts to secure Douglas Luiz from

Aston Villa

. Additionally, he has garnered interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham, both looking to strengthen their squads for domestic and European competitions.

Despite the English interest, McKennie could opt for an alternative path, with FC Cincinnati reportedly offering him a deal worth up to $15 million (£12m), according to Pro Soccer Wire. Several other MLS teams are monitoring the situation closely.

Currently, McKennie is on duty with the USMNT at the Copa America. Although he never played in MLS, having left FC Dallas' academy before making his senior breakthrough, McKennie has made a significant impact in Europe, notably with Schalke and Juventus. The 2023-24 season was particularly fruitful, with McKennie making 38 appearances and recording a career-best tally of 10 assists.
