Erling Haaland broke the record

Haaland is the top scorer in the English Premier League

Norwegian striker

Erling Haaland

left the last mark on his team's victory (4-1) against his guest

Arsenal

this evening, in the 33rd round of the English Premier League.

Haaland scored for

Manchester City

fourth goal, raising his tally to 33 Premier League goals this season topping the scorers list.

Haaland had set up the first and second goals for fellow Belgian

Kevin De Bruyne

.

But the Norwegian giant refused to leave the match without scoring, so he scored City's fourth goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time taking advantage of a pass from fellow substitute

Phil Foden

.

And according to the "Opta" network Haaland became the first player in the history of the Premier League to score 33 goals in one season containing 38 rounds, noting that he needed only 29 matches to achieve this.

Haaland broke the record which was registered in the name of

Liverpool

star

Mohamed Salah

 with 32 goals.

With that result Manchester City raised its score to 73 points in second place, while Arsenal's balance froze at 75 points in the lead with the Gunners playing two more matches.
