John Terry pokes fun at Aguero after retired striker joins in World Cup celebrations

Former Chelsea star John Terry pokes fun at Sergio Aguero after retired striker joins Argentina celebrations following World Cup triumph.

Sergio Aguero

joined Barcelona in 2021 but was forced to retire in December 2021 after doctors discovered he had a heart issue.

The 34-year-old Aguero scored 41 goals in 101 matches for

Argentina

and was part of the team that won the Copa America in 2021.

Aguero who has a close relationship with Lionel Messi was alongside Argentina’s players during the

World Cup

in Qatar.

After Argentina beat France on penalties in the final on Sunday to win the World Cup after 36 years, Aguero joined the celebrations on the pitch and even lifted the trophy.

John Terry who missed the Champions League final in 2012 after being sent off in the semi-final, joined the celebrations on the pitch after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the final.

Working as a pundit for Bein Sports channel during the World Cup, he jokingly claimed Sergio Aguero imitated him by joining Argentina's World Cup celebrations in full kit.

Terry told Bein Sports:

”Aguero has gone for the full John Terry there hasn’t he?! I did it first."

Chelsea legend also wrote on his Twitter:

"If your [sic] going to do it, at least go for it and put the shin pads and boots on."

Argentina now has won three World Cups in its history following a win against France. They won this trophy in 1978, 1986, and 2022.
