Reyna’s injury concerns UMSNT fans before the 2022 World Cup
The UMSNT supporters are concerned over Gio Reyna’s apparent injury during his side’s pre-World Cup battle against Saudi Arabia.
Gio Reyna
was sent off when his side had a friendly clash against
Saudi Arabiadue to a “muscle tightness” and the US Soccer Federation decided to take a “precautionary” measure. The supporters of UMSNT are worried about the player as the World Cup is coming up in less than two months. Reyna is an important part of
Gregg Berhalter
’s plan and he has a history of injury issues when he was playing with
Borussia Dortmund. He sustained many hamstring problems that had him sidelined for the most part of the previous season.
Berhalter did not have some of the crucial players such as Tim Weah, Yunus Musah, Antonee Robinson, Chris Richards, Miles Robinson and Zack Steffen for the September games, which is the final one before the 2022 World Cup.
Therefore, should Reyna’s injury be a serious one, the manager is going to be dealt a major blow as it would be harder for them to make their way out of the group stage of the World Cup, where they have to feature against Wales, England, and Iran in Group B. They are hoping that the 19-year-old returns to action when his club lock horns with Koln in the Bundesliga this weekend.
