Pep Guardiola rules out Bernardo Silva's transfer to Barcelona

Silva tried to leave City last summer but ended up staying in this team and won the Premier League title last season. Rumors indicate that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign him, with the Portuguese himself preferring a move to the Blaugrana.

However, the

Manchester City

boss has been insistent he wants the 28-year-old Portugal international to stay.

Pep Guardiola

humored about the situation as he said Bernardo would be in Barcelona next week, but only on City duty as the clubs play a charity fundraising friendly at

Camp Nou

.

Guardiola told

Catalunya Radio

:

"On Wednesday you will see him play. Of course! And what is certain is that he will do it with us, City. Bernardo and 10 others will play."

The friendly match will be held to benefit research into motor neuron disease (MND), also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A condition suffered by former

Barcelona

goalkeeping coach, Juan Carlos Unzue as well as Manchester City Women's captain's husband, Steph Houghton.

Guardiola added the Citizens welcome the chance to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

"

It's a gift to return to the Camp Nou to play a solidarity game to fight against [MND],"

he said, quoted widely in the Spanish press.

Praising

Unzue

, Guardiola added:

"Life has given him a punch, and he gets up every time. With his gestures and actions he helps many people."

Bernardo Silva

has won many honors in his 5 years at City and has a contract with this club until the 2024-25 season.
