Ronaldo Araujo

is ready to compete for place at

Barcelona

while speculations of

Jules Kounde

joining the Catalans.

The Blaugrana have penned contracts with Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, and Raphinha notwithstanding their financial problems.

Xavi’s Barca have agreed deal with

Bayern Munich

star

Robert Lewandowski

, which is said to be worth €50million, including add-ons.

Ousmane Dembele has signed an extension with Barcelona as well but the Catalans are not yet finished as they want to bring in Kounde from Sevilla.

Manchester City and

Chelsea

are also keen on acquiring the Frenchman’s services.

Araujo has Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia, Christenson and potentially Kounde as competition and he wants the best for Barca.

Quizzed about Kounde after the pre-season tour training, the Uruguay international said:

"He is a great player; the best players being at Barca is good for the group.

"They know what I can contribute, my characteristics; what I want is for us to have the best possible team.

"Competition is always good in football because it makes you get the best of you, and players arrive who can contribute. I always say that I want the best for Barca, and that they add to the team."

Regarding Dembele’s contract extension and the new signings, Araujo quickly expressed his delight as Barcelona want to challenge Real Madrid for the title.

"We all wanted Ousmane to continue in the team,"

he added.

"We know [Lewandowski's] quality; it is tremendous that he is with us.

"Raphinha, Christensen, Kessie also arrived. It's important that good players arrive to continue growing as a team."

The Blaugrana will lock horns with Inter Miami, Real Madrid, Juventus, and New York Red Bulls in friendlies before they open their La Liga season against Rayo Vallecano.

"It is important to have a good pre-season, at a tactical and physical level. I think it's going to be a nice season," he continued. "It's important to win titles for the group, but you have to go step by step."
