until 2023, having previously represented the club during the 2018/19 campaign, and knows the league well after also spending last season at Napoli.

“I’m very happy to be here, I have great memories,”

Bakayoko told MilanTV.

“It didn’t start well, but in the end the club, the fans and the staff showed me a lot of affection.

“This is why I always thought that I would come back one day, it was one of my dreams.”

Bakayoko revealed he spoke to technical director Paolo Maldini about a return to Milanello.

“We talked a few weeks ago and today we met,” he said. “They all wanted me to come back and this gave me a lot of confidence and I was sure I would return to the Rossoneri.

“It’s nice to see some friends again, I know all the French players on the team and when I decided to come back here, I thought about it and talked to them.”

Bakayoko has spent two seasons in Serie A already and believes the championship is developing.

“I think Serie A is growing,” he added. “Excellent players arrive every year and the level has improved a lot.

“I feel good in this championship and now I can say that I know it and I’m happy to play here.”
