Real Madrid may pen with PSG’s Mbappe in January

Los Blancos will probably wait for the next transfer window to make an offer for the France international, notwithstanding positive negotiations with the Ligue 1 side over acquiring his services.

Real Madrid

and

Paris Saint-Germain

negotiated on Thursday after their second offer of £145.6m (€170m) for

Kylian Mbappe

, but according to

Sky Sports News

, they have yet to close a deal.

The Frenchman told the Ligue 1 giants, who rejected Madrid’s initial offer of £137m on Wednesday, it is his dream to join Real Madrid.

As per reports from Sky Sports News’ sources in France, Los Blancos may decide to wait until January to make another offer for the 22-year-old.

The La Liga side can pen a pre-contract agreement with the France international on January 1, 2022, and he can join them for free next summer.

His deal with PSG is due to end when the season ends and he has not agreed to extend his contract.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi talked about Real’s offer with

beIN SPORTS

, saying:

"We've always been very clear... the situation, the position of the club.

"We're not going to repeat it every time. You know our position; it has not changed."

PSG’s sporting director Leonardo, however, told RMC Sport:

"Kylian wants to leave, it seems clear to me. If Real Madrid makes an offer, it seems clear to me... I am taking a position that I think is clear to everyone.

"If he wants to leave, we are not going to hold him back, but it will be on our terms.

"Kylian always promised that he would never leave the club for free. That's what he's always told us.

"We have no plans to talk to Real Madrid again. The deadline is August 31 at midnight. That's how the transfer window is, but we are clear about this: we want to keep him and extend his deal.

"But we're not going to let him go for less than what we paid for him, when we still owe Monaco money."

The Ligue 1 giants signed the Frenchman on a deal worth €180m in 2018 after having him on loan for a season.

Mbappe found the target 133 times and provided 63 assists in 174 matches since joining PSG and he contributed to 11 major domestic honors, with three Ligue 1 titles.
