Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic to join Juventus’ rival, Inter

Given the severity of Barcelona's economic crisis, every dollar counts. Pjanic's entry as part of a Barca-Juve exchange deal has been a perplexing and contentious choice. It was just a clandestine operation to balance the books, and it hasn't gone well.

Carrying a reputation as one of the finest playmakers in Europe’s top-five divisions,

Pjanic

joined the Blaugrana on a €60.00m deal that involved

Arthur Melo

as a part of the deal.

However, the Bosnian failed to secure a place in Ronald Koeman’s first-team the last term as

he left unhappy with his limited game-time

.

Previously, having been hit hard by the pandemic’s economic effects,

Barcelona offered compensation packages to terminate the Bosnian's contract

as he featured in only 13 matches for the Catalans in their 2020-21 campaign. However, Pjanic rejected Blaugrana’s offer.

Now, according to

La Reppublica

, the 31-year-old playmaker could make a shock move to

Juve’s

arch-rivals

Inter

. The Nerazzurri would reportedly only sign Pjanic if he accepts a salary pay-cut.

Currently earning €6.5 million a year at Barcelona,

Inter

are offering the Bosnian a contract that worth €5.5 million a year.

Pjanic would replace Arturo Vidal at Inter, who is heading towards the Giuseppe Meazza exit.
