Lazio turn to Mihajlovic or Mazzarri as Inzaghi successor

Lazio have been linked with several names to replace Simone Inzaghi as the Italian manager is set to leave the Biancocelesti for Inter.

Lazio

have turned their attention to replace

Simone Inzaghi

with

Sinisa Mihajlovic

,

Bologna

head coach, and

Walter Mazzarri

emerged as possible options.

According to reports in Italy, Inzaghi has reached an agreement to join

Inter

for a reported salary of €4 million, almost twice the amount he would have earned at the Stadio Olimpico.

This will leave Lazio empty-handed, having waited 18 months to open talks on a contract extension with their coach.

According to Sky Sport Italia, President

Claudio Lotito

has contacted Mazzarri, who is a free agent after his spell at Torino ended last season.

Lazio have also shown interest in Mihajlovic, but he is under contract with Bologna until 2023.

Mihajlovic, however, is a Lazio supporter who spent much of his playing career at the Olimpico and his family still lives in Rome.

Mihajlovic has plenty of experience in Serie A, which includes stints with the likes of Torino and Fiorentina. More so, he spent six seasons as a player with Lazio.
