Partey’s fitness to be assessed ahead of Benfica clash

The midfielder picked up a hamstring injury during the match against Aston Villa earlier this month and has missed the Gunners’ last three matches.

However, the Ghanaian

has

returned to full training since Monday and might be able to fly out to Athens with the team for the crucial Europa League match.

The

Arsenal’s

boss said on

Partey’s

injury return: "

Thomas is very close. He has got a final test today (Wednesday) in training and if he is feeling good, he will be available to play the match."

Arteta

also provided an injury update on

Rob Holding

in his pre-match conference. The defender suffered a head injury during their Premier League clash with

Manchester City

at the weekend.

"Regarding Rob, he is not available,"

said

Arteta

.

"He had a concussion.

"We used that [substitution]. He is completely fine, but obviously now we need to follow the protocols and he won’t be able to travel."
