Jeremy Mathieu: it is a mistake that Griezmann came to Barcelona

Griezmann moved from

to Barcelona in 2019 but has been through so many struggles to get a chance to display his abilities and form.

Mathieu says that the 29-year-old was precious for Atletico but he is not at the same level of importance in Barcelona.

“Griezmann is not at his Atletico level. Personally, in my opinion, it is a mistake that he came to Barcelona.

" Mathieu said.

“At Atletico he was a very important piece and I don't know if he has that importance at Barcelona.”

Mathieu spent four seasons and an optional season at Barcelona which has made him identify with

Clement Lenglet

after he was severely criticized after the match against Cadiz.

Mathieu backed him and said:

“I had a very bad time in my last year with Barcelona. I felt that the defeat in Turin [in the Champions League against Juventus] was my fault.

"But I don't understand why they went for me as there are 11 players in a football team. 

“I felt alone in the dressing room. No one offered support. For me, that's not football.

"Everyone is killing Lenglet now, and I know what that's like. He has to try and be positive and to turn it around, and try his best."

Barcelona have won 7 matches of all competitions out of the last ten, suffered a defeat in two and drawn once.
